Carlins Dry Ginger dies aged 23


  • The successful 13hh working hunter pony Carlins Dry Ginger was put down recently suffering from the acute symptoms of Cushings Disease.

    “Piper” had a long and successful career in the show ring including winning the WHP Championship at the Royal International in 1994, and a second place at Wembley at the ripe old age of 19. He also won the BSPS “Gold Cup” on two consecutive occasions in 1997 and 1998.

    Nicknamed “Hyper Piper” because of his powerful way of going and endless supplyof energy, he will be fondly remembered by many, including his principal riders Helen Lightwood, Lucy Brice, Jean-Pierre Guillambert, and Kathryn Delevingne.
