Looking for the perfect hat for Royal Ascot?
Help is at hand with a new hat hire company that has been set up in London to provide ladies with “originial and stylish hats at affordable prices”.
With strict fashion rules in place for Royal Ascot (fascinators are banned in the Royal Enclosure and headpieces need to have a base of at least 4in in diameter) The Hat Club also offer advice on how to choose a design compliment your outfit.
The Hat Club is based in Putney and run by three London-based racing lovers. It was launched at the beginning of the month and is now up and running.
“The concept came about last year when all three of us wanted to wear a really stunning hat but couldn’t find anything within our price range,” said Harriet Collins of The Hat Club.
“With a limited number of options to hire in London, we thought we should put our money where our mouth is and do it ourselves.”
There are designs from top names in millinery including Gina Foster and up and comingmilliners Juliette Millinery, Bundle MacLaren, Rosie Olivia, Laura Cathcart and Emily London.
The Hat Club will also be offering a pick up and drop off service at the Derby (1 June) and Royal Ascot (18-22 June) to “take the hassle” out of collection. There is also a courier service available for an extra cost.
“Over the past few years the hat has grown in popularity and the opportunities to wear onehave increased,” added co-founder Davina Mulford. “We love the way that a hat can add individuality to an outfit, setting the wearer apart from the crowd. There are some exciting new milliners on the scene with some really creative designs.”
