Horse & Hound readers urged to sign petition

  • H&H readers are being urged to sign a petition to ban the distasteful Facebook page “I love hunting accidents”, which celebrates deaths and injuries to hunting people.

The pro-hunt Facebook group Campaigning for Hunting is aiming to reach 1,500 signatures, with 1,054 so far. The hunting accidents page has 1,202 “likes”.

But Facebook said the page did not breach its rules as it was “not being used to threaten people with real world harm”.

A spokesman said: “While it may be viewed as offensive or upsetting, that alone is not enough to require its removal — someone wouldn’t be kicked out of a pub for celebrating the death of a person they disliked.”
