Endurance win for Sheikh Mohammed

  • One of the world’s richest endurance rides has been won by Sheikh Mohammed riding his Australian-bred Arab Reflex. The 10-year-old chestnut also collected the best condition award after cruising home at a speed of 23.51km/hr over the last section.

The top prize in the Emirates Giants Endurance Championship was a Bentley worth in excess of £200,000. Second place and a GMC Yukon 4X4 went to the UAE’s Humaid Kalfan Al Muhairbi riding for the Al Wathba Stables with M Puma.

It is understood that Sheikh Mohammed, who went into the first vet gate in 24th place in the CEI B 120km ride and won the ride by a margin of three and a half minutes, donates his prizes to charity.

  • Three British endurance riders areexpected to be invited to take part in the World’s Most Preferred Endurance Ride (World Cup) in the UAE on 24 March. The ride is set to have a top prize of $300,000.
