One of the world’s richest endurance rides has been won by Sheikh Mohammed riding his Australian-bred Arab Reflex. The 10-year-old chestnut also collected the best condition award after cruising home at a speed of 23.51km/hr over the last section.
The top prize in the Emirates Giants Endurance Championship was a Bentley worth in excess of £200,000. Second place and a GMC Yukon 4X4 went to the UAE’s Humaid Kalfan Al Muhairbi riding for the Al Wathba Stables with M Puma.
It is understood that Sheikh Mohammed, who went into the first vet gate in 24th place in the CEI B 120km ride and won the ride by a margin of three and a half minutes, donates his prizes to charity.
