A feast of equestrian art


  • An exhibition entitled “Treasures of Cathrine the Great” has opened and is set to run until 23 September 2001 in the Hermitage Rooms at Somerset House in the Strand.

    On show will be jewel, wrought silver and gold, antiquities and paintings, representing Catherin’d own collection and presents she bought for friends and family.

    The decor of the Hermitage Rooms will recreate in miniature, the imperial splendour of the Winter Palace and its various wings, which willlnow make up the State hermitage museum in St Petersburg.Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.
