Derek Ricketts has confirmed the four show jumpers who will representing Britain at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez next month
Although a British show jumping squad will still compete at Gijon next weekend, team manager Derek Ricketts has now dispensed with this as a final trial and announced that his team for WEG will comprise Di Lampard, Tim Stockdale, Mark Armstrong and Scott Smith.
Gijon will be the first outing since the Royal International for Scott’s ride, Cabri D’Elle, who has had a long rest after sustaining two overreaches.
“He’s been passed by the team vet, but is obviously short of work,” said Scott, who will concentrate on getting the horse fit before Jerez.
Fresh Direct Parcival will be ridden at Gijon by former rider David McPherson, who has stepped in to continue the horse’s preparation for WEG while Tim recovers from a broken collarbone.
The injury occurred when Tim fell from a horse he was trying in Belgium on Bank Holiday Monday. He is expected to make a full recovery in time for WEG.
