Farewell to Leicestershire hunting man Noel Pegge


  • Veteran Leicestershire hunting personality Noel Pegge died on 25 January.

    He was 92 and had hunted with the county’s various packs for more than 60 years.

    A highly respected livery owner and horse dealer, Mr Pegge produced top-end hunters from his yard at the Grove Stud, Somerby.

    He was a superb horseman and continued to jump fences in the hunting field in his 88th year.

    Mr Pegge was pre-deceased by his wife, Grace, in 1994.

    His funeral is on Wednesday, 13 February at All Saints Church, Somerby at noon.
