Farewell to… a former president of the National Pony Society

    • A former president of the National Pony Society (NPS), Anne Furness of the Knowle Stud died just before Christmas.

    Mrs Furness was also a highly respected breeder and judge, chairman of council and recipient of the NPS Medal of Honour.

    In 2010, she was given a long-service award at the Great Yorkshire Show for more than 50 years’ work on the horse section committee.
