Fernie stalwart James Buxton was this year’s recipient of the British Horse Society (BHS) President’s Award.
The prestigious award — “for the person who has given truly outstanding service to the society over a period of years” — was presented to Mr Buxton at Saddlers’ Hall, London, on 2 November.
The citation described Mr Buxton, who is in his 43rd hunting season, as “one of the most popular and respected figures in the society today”, who had made an “enormous contribution” to welfare work.
