The highest premium of 2012 was awarded at the final venue for the Baileys Horse Feeds/British Breeding/British Equestrian Federation Futurity as seven elite premiums were given at Solihull EC across two days.
Sara Lucas’ colt foal, Heaven (pictured), took home a premium of 9.66 — the highest of 2012 — in the dressage section. Bred by Lynne Crowden, Heaven is by Hanoverian stallion Hotline, out of a Londonderry mare, St Pr Limoncello.
Evaluators Katy Holder-Vale, Lesley Peyton-Gilbert and Lucinda Simms were unanimous in their decision to award 10s for some of this astonishing colt’s paces. They said he was “off the ground, supple, free moving and a truly international prospect”.
On the first day at Solihull, Welford Furst Utopian, a black colt foal by Olympic gold medallist Uthopia, took an elite premium of 9.39 also in the dressage section. He is out of From Heaven, by Furst Heinrich and is owned and bred by Erika Coghlan.
Yearling filly Woodlander For Your Love attained a premium of 9.27 and the top score for her age group. Lynne Crowden owns and bred this dressage filly who is by For Compliment, out of a Longchamp mare, St Pr Louisiana.
Two foals sired by Silvester were both awarded elite premiums for owner and breeder Hazel Offord of the WG Stud in Bicester. Top potential showjumper was filly foal Silver Socks, who took an elite premium of 9.20. She is by Silvester and out of Broadstone Chicago mare Call Girl. Silvester’s other elite premium of 9.06 went to filly foal Cathargo’s Darco, out of a Darco mare Donna Carrera Z.
David Jones from Marslands Farm owns and bred filly foal Marslands Zametty, who took an elite premium of 9.16 in the showjumping section. She is by Zambesi, out of a Caretano Z mare Canetty Z. Lindsay Froggatt’s dressage foal Wonderwall was also awarded an elite premium of 9.07. He is by Wenckstern, out of a Mondriaan mare, Trenda.
The top eventer at Solihull was filly foal Harthill Coral for the Harthill Stud. She was awarded a higher first premium of 8.71 and is by Honour Cruise, out of Salmon Pink, by the thoroughbred stallion Rising.
