Ex-racehorse turned equine model Natterjack is up for a sports marketing award.
Natterjack, who used to be trained by Alan King, hit headlines this summer promoting Barbury Castle Horse Trials in the Union Jacks High campaign.
The grey was painted in red, white and blue and photographed jumping the Stonehenge Fence at Barbury with British rider Laura Collett.
The campaign has been shortlisted in the “innovation in sports marketing” category at the Sports Markerting 360 Awards. It is up against nine others including global brands RBS Six Nations, VISA and ESPN.
Harriet Rochester of PR consultancy HRSM implemented Union Jacks High on behalf of Nigel Bunter’s Barbury International Horse Trials.
“Natterjack was the perfect model and looked magnificent painted in the Union Jack, he was lapping up the attention,” said Harriet.
“It took a team of four people five hours to create the union jack effect using liquid chalk. We are very proud that Union Jacks High has been shortlisted for these awards and its fantastic for Eventing to be recognised alongside global names in sport and sponsorship.”
