A Le Trek rider from Hertfordshire has raised £7,500 for five charities, including World Horse Welfare, after completing a 560 mile riding challenge.
Jill Perry set off from Norfolk on Sunday 22 April and arrived in Wales on Monday 21 May.
“The weather was against us to start with as it was very wet and cold for several days,” she said. “But that didn’t put us off and we saw lots of wonderful sights and different landscapes.”
Jill completed her latest marathon ride, which spanned from Sandringham House in Norfolk, to the Dinefwr Castle in South Wales via Buckingham Palace, on her Welsh Cob, Gem.
The ride was to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and there was a strong sense of patriotism as many of the routes Jill chose to ride are steeped in Royal history.
“I thought it would be fitting to start at Sandringham and also take in the sights of London, including Buckingham palace, which was fantastic,” she added.
