Final section of Pennine Bridleway opens today


  • The official opening of the final section of the Pennine Bridleway will take place in the Yorkshire Dales today (12 June).

    The new 85-mile section runs from the top of the Mary Towneley Loop in the South Pennines to south of Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria. The trail now stretches 205 miles, from the Peak District to Cumbria.

    To celebrate the launch of the route, Ride Yorkshire is organising a 10-mile pleasure ride starting from Horton Quarry on 17 June.
