VAT on fuel petition is now eligible for debate in Parliament

  • The question of whether to exempt the Air Ambulance Service from VAT on fuel is now eligible for debate in Parliament – after an e-petition on the Downing Street website attracted well over the requisite 100,000 signatures.

As H&H went to press, more than 140,000 people had added their names.

Riders have been encouraged to lend their support, after H&H revealed the extent to which they rely on air ambulances.

The Backbench Business Committee will now decide whether to schedule a debate.
A spokesman for the Air Ambulance Association (AAA)said: “We’re delighted.”
