Peter Durrant has resigned as chief executive of the National Pony Society (NPS).
He officially stood down at the society’s AGM on 17 March.
Mr Durrant, who had been in the role since November 2009, told H&H he had “done the best he could for the membership” by introducing personal and public liability insurances into the subscription.
“I have tried to moved things forward [by attempting to move the NPS towards electronic communication], but it is time to move on,” he added.
The NPS has a deficit of £60,000.
“I am convinced that if they [the NPS] embrace every income stream opportunity, they will do very well,” said Mr Durrant.
