Around £150,000 worth of equestrian stock has been stolen from Zebra Products.
Owner Simon Middleton said the burglary happened at the company’s Flintshire warehouse late on Tuesday 17 January or in the early hours of Wednesday 18 January.
“They broke the doors down, and police believe it was a professional job,” he said.
The company distributes around a dozen brands but the thieves targeted specific items.
The most distinctive item stolen was a yellow saddle – a prototype of a Vega single-flap jumping saddle made of unusual materials, including clarino, a synthetic leather-type material.
“The saddle was launched at BETA and made in 2004,” said Mr Middleton. “It’s very identifiable, no one else in the UK – possibly even in the world – has one.
“All the Konig boots were taken as well as Veredus boots, 15 Amerigo and Equipe saddles, plus a number of bridles and leatherwork.”
He added that Zebra is fully insured so the theft should be covered, but that replenishing the stock could take time.
“We had to stop trading and do a full stock take. We are heightening our security going forward,” he added.
“I will be offering a reward to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest.”
