Verm-X wins silver in Green Apple environmental awards

  • Natural wormer company, Verm-X has won a silver award in the government-backed Green Apple Awards, which recognise environmental best practice in farming and agriculture.

Verm-X has previously received four bronze awards.

The company says winning their first silver is an indication of its growth and continuing success in bringing a natural product into a traditionally chemical and man-made market.

The prize-giving took place in the House of Commons on 14 November, with presentations made by MP Liz Kendell and Chris Hopkins, a successful entrepreneur who succeeded in winning funding for his business, Ploughcroft Solar, on Dragons Den in July 2011.

And Dame Vanessa Redgrave’s wrote a letter she expressing how valuable the work of the winners was for the environment.

Verm-X managing director Philip Ghazala said: “The Verm-X team has been working extremely hard to enhance our environmental best practice. The silver Green Apple Award is reassuring recognition that a significant contribution continues to be made.

“We are immensely proud of our high standards and those of the companies we work with.”
