Jane Holderness-Roddam out of the saddle for 10 months

  • Former Olympic event rider Jane Holderness-Roddam will be out of the saddle for nearly a year, following an operation to remodel one of her feet.

Mrs Holderness-Roddam, who runs West Kington Stud in north Wiltshire, told H&H her feet had “collapsed” due to “years of abuse”.

“It’s part arthritis, part poor conformation – and years of horses treading on them,” she said.

She will have an operation on her other foot next year.

“The doctors say I mustn’t ride for 10 months, but I’m hoping to halve that,” she added.
