Tim Stockdale fractures neck in fall from young horse

  • Showjumper Tim Stockdale has fractured his neck in two places, in a fall from a young horse.

The accident happened on Monday (17 October) when Tim, 47, was trying a youngster in North Wales.

He was knocked out in the fall and taken to Shrewsbury Hospital suffering from concussion. Doctors later found two fractures in his neck.

Tim is being transferred to the spinal unit at Oswestry today.

His groom Kristyn Kemp told H&H: “He’s stable and everything’s moving, which is great. I spoke to him this morning and he sounds ok – but says he’s a bit sore.”

Tim tweeted: “I am ok apart from the two fractures in my neck. I will know more after today’s move to Oswestry spinal unit. I have movement and feeling.”
