Holker Hall driving trials cancelled for 2012

  • Holker Hall driving trials in Cumbria will not be running next year.

The British Horse Driving Trials Association (BHDTA) event, to be held on 5-7 August, is the 10th national-level competition to close since 2000.

BHDTA competitions committee chairman Ian Gilbert said: “It was a commercial decision by the estate – the trials themselves went well this year, but the country fair it runs in conjunction with did not make enough money.”

The BHDTA has confirmed to H&H that a venue has been lined up to replace it.
