The death of Pony Club eventer Jade South was an accident, a jury has decided.
An inquest was held on Monday (21 February) into the death of 15-year-old Jade on 30 October 2008, during a South Herefordshire and Ross Harriers branch of the Pony Club rally at Pauntley cross-country course in Gloucestershire.
A jury returned a verdict of “died as a result of an accident, when the horse clipped an unpinned moveable fence”.
A Pony Club spokesman said: “We take safety very seriously. Our thoughts are with the South family.”
