The celebrity match at Thursday’s Gaucho International Polo event will feature former Scottish rugby captain Kenny Logan, BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell and Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon.
The trio are training at Ascot Park Polo Club, in readiness for the big match at 7.30pm tomorrow (24 February) at the O2 arena.
Mike has tried polo once before for a sports report, but Kenny and Liz are complete beginners.
International polo instructor Peter Grace, who has been teaching the celebrities, pointed to Kenny Logan as the one to watch.
The rugby star showed an instantly ability to strike balls 150m, the length of the arena.
“Rarely do we see a newcomer to the sport take so easily to the saddle and hitting at the same time,” said Peter.
“His thirst for knowledge of the rules was so indicative of his background, and it will be a thrill to see him take to the O2 arena.”
