Register your interest for the 2012 London Olympic Games

  • Fans of equestrian sport are reminded that they can still register their interest in buying tickets for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Tickets go on sale in March but today (Thursday 27 January) marks 18 months to go until the London Olympics.

Registering your interest now will make it easier to buy tickets when they go on sale — 15 March for the Olympics and 9 September for the Paralympics.

There are 8.8m tickets available for the Games, with 75% of these going on sale to the public. And the majority of tickets will be priced at £100 or under, with 2.5m at £20 or under.

LOCOG has also confirmed that for over 200 Olympic Games sessions, a “pay your age” scheme will operate, meaning anyone who is 16 or under at the start of the Games pays their age. Meanwhile anyone aged 60 and over pays £16.

Tickets for showjumping are priced from £20-£95 for preliminary rounds and from £65-£275 for the finals. Prices for dressage are the same.

For eventing cross-country costs £55, the dressage and jumping phases range from £20-£95 preliminary and £35 to £150 in the final.

All equestrian events will take place in Greenwich Park.

Olympic medal winner William Fox-Pitt and his wife Alice Plunkett are getting behind the campaign and encouraging equestrian fans to sign up for tickets.

“It’s hugely exciting to have the Olympics in this country for any athlete and it is a massive opportunity for equestrianism,” Alice told H&H.

By signing up, you’ll receive all the latest news about the Olympics including prices and schedules.
