New £30k horse for paralympian Lee Pearson

  • Nine-times paralympic gold medal winner Lee Pearson has a new horse, thanks to a new charitable trust formed to secure horses for British para riders.

The Lady Joseph Trust Fund paid £30,000 for Hanoverian state premium mare Silhouette, the top lot at Brightwells Stars of the Future sale on 19 November.

“She is a phenomenal horse – really well behaved yet with so much power and rideability,” said Lee who bid for the three-year-old by the Sandro Hit son San Remo out of a Wolkantanz mare.

Lee said the mare will do BD young horse classes next year.

It is the first purchase for the trust, which is now looking for a horse for para medallists Debbie Criddle and Ricky Balshaw.
