Twenty saddles and five sets of clippers stolen in Dorset

  • A Dorset livery yard and stud is asking horse owners in the south west to be on the look out after 20 high-value saddles and five sets of clippers were taken from the yard last night (4 November).

Thieves forced the metal doors of two tackrooms at Turners Puddle Farm, near Dorchester, between 9.30pm and 5am.

Owner Rose Debenham said the thieves ignored bridles and newly-cleaned rugs, just removing the saddles and the Lister clippers.

The dressage saddles were worth as much as £3,000 each and include a new Antares, two Albions and two new black Ideal Suzanna saddles, one wide and one medium to wide.

Ms Debenham said: “If anyone is offered these saddles I’d like them to contact the police.”

Wareham police are dealing with the theft. Call 01202 222 222.
