Country chainstore Countrywide has bought the South West’s largest on-line and in-store equestrian retailer — Town and Country Supplies of Crannaford near Exeter.
The store will now be known as Town and Country Supplies in association with Countrywide.
It was bought on the 12 October for an undisclosed sum.
Countrywide retail director Garry Wharmby, said: “Town and Country Supplies is a family business that has built its reputation on over 35 years of outstanding trading experience.
“This purchase is very much in line with our strategy for growth. It strengthens our presence in the South West and is an ideal springboard for further acquisitions in this area.
“Town and Country Supplies are extremely well respected in the riding community. It’s an excellent fit for Countrywide.”
And Simon Kerslake, co-partner in Town and Country Supplies with his father Barry, said he will continue with the business.
“This is a very positive move forward for Town and Country and its customers, who will see the business grow further and benefit from an even wider range of products and services,” said Mr Kerslake.
