Horse loose on M25 for 30 minutes at rush hour

  • A horse was loose on the M25 near Brentwood for 30 minutes on Saturday afternoon (2 October) after escaping from its trailer following a collision.

A Kia car and trailer crashed into the central barrier of the motorway after braking to avoid a Ford Focus car that had spun and flipped onto the hard shoulder.

Police say the trailer was badly damaged in the incident and the horse had to be recaptured by its owner, a woman from Ruislip.

The two-vehicle accident took place at around 5.30pm and the road was closed until 6pm, while the horse was caught and two people released from the Ford car.

The horse was treated at the scene by a vet before being taken for further treatment.
