Olympic dressage rider Laura Bechtolsheimer will be making an appearance on Celebrity Masterchef tonight (Thursday 12 June) — but not in the kitchen.
Laura was one of several athletes invited to try the food on a special Olympic edition of the show.
The four Masterchef semi-finalists had to cater for hundreds of workers on the Olympic Stadium, then cook a “Best of British” dinner, hosted by Lord Coe of London 2012.
As well as Laura, other guests included Dame Kelly Holmes and Dame Tanni Grey Thompson.
“It was filmed a few weeks ago and we were just there to eat and they filmed bits of our conversations,” said Laura.
“The starters, mains and puddings were all very British and it certainly made me try new things, such as haggis, which I’d never normally eat!
“It was really good fun though, definitely something different to be involved in.”
But Laura won’t be watching at home tonight.
“It’s my brother’s birthday so I won’t see it — I’ll be recording it though,” she added.
Masterchef is on BBC1 at 8pm tonight (Thursday 12 August). It will also be available on BBC i-Player for one week.
