Horse & Hound is celebrating gaining over 40,000 fans on facebook.
“It’s a fabulous achievement,” says H&H website editor, Carol Phillips. “Facebook gives us a great opportunity to engage with our readers and get prompt and useful feedback on the website and the magazine.”
Facebook users who ‘Like’ Horse & Hound get breaking news, fabulous competitions, fun quizzes, special reader offers and more, automatically posted on their ‘wall’.
They can also share their favourite news stories and features on the H&H website with their ‘friends’ by clicking the ‘Like’ button on the bottom of any news story (see below).
But Horse & Hound is far from the only equestrian company to be embracing the social media opportunities that facebook provides. From elite riders and major equestrian events to equestrian artists and business start-ups, there are a whole host of equestrian companies getting on board.
“Whether you like it or loathe it, facebook has become part of mainstream culture and if you aren’t on there, you are missing out,” said Carol.
