One person has died and 23 have been injured by two horses drawing a carriage in a 4th of July parade at the Bellevue Heritage Day Celebration in Iowa.
The two horses bolted and overturned their carriage before galloping through the streets for several blocks trampling spectators.
According to local reports the horses “ran wildly hitting people along the way”. More than half of those injured were under the age of 12.
Four people are reported to be in a critical condition, five in a serious condition and 14 more with minor injuries. A 60-year-old woman has died.
