Aachen to add a TV station to its showground facilities

  • CHIO Aachen will have a permanent TV studio in the main stadium in time for the World Equestrian Festival (9-18 July).

The event organisers have teamed up with one of the TV stations — WDR — to create the studio.

And three German TV stations will use the two-storey studio to create 30 hours of coverage — 25 hours of which will be live — over the competition, which will be transmitted in 140 countries.

Frank Kempermann, chairman of the Aachen showground said: “CHIO Aachen has been a major media event for some time.

“By building a permanent TV station we are adding another standard which is necessary for an event like ours.”
