This year’s Grand National-winning jockey AP McCoy, MBE, headed a host of names from the equestrian world to be recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours released last weekend.
AP was awarded an OBE for services to horse racing; Nicola Tustain, MBE, was made an OBE for services to disability sport, particularly equestrian; and Vanne Campbell, MBE, was given an OBE for voluntary service to the Iveagh branch of the Pony Club in Northern Ireland.
Elizabeth Kerr, chairman of the Powderham Castle Riding for the Disabled Group, was awarded an MBE for voluntary service to disabled children in Exeter; Bryn and Emma Parry, co-founders of Help for Heroes, received MBEs for voluntary service to the Armed Forces, and verderer Dionis MacNair was given an MBE for services to the New Forest.
