The CCI*** winner at Blair Castle Horse Trials (26-29 August) this year will win a riding safari in Zambia for themselves, the horse’s owner and their partners, worth £8,000.
The holiday is being given by Dunblane-based company Zara’s Planet.
The winners will stay in the Impandala Lodge on the 10,000-acre Shiwa reserve, where they can ride out every day and see wildlife including zebra, wildebeest, mountain leopards and eagles.
Managing director of Zara’s Planet Jill Dolan has been to Shiwa and said that safari operators Stephen and Lucy Rufus have a superb string of horses, who give light, responsive rides, and guests can expect to enjoy long days in the saddle, at varied paces. An added extra is the opportunity to play polo.
She said: “We are proud to be supporting Scotland’s leading equestrian event, having taken tradestands there in the past. We know how popular it is with competitors and visitors alike and look forward to increasing our involvement with the event this year.”
Hannah Wilkins, assistant director at Blair, said, “It is fantastic that local businesses such as Zara’s Planet are seeing the benefits of having such a big and popular event in Scotland and are supporting us in this way.”
