Blair Castle International Horse Trials has won the Scottish Equestrian Association’s (SEA) Trade and Industry Award.
The CCI*** event held in Perthshire first ran in 1989 as a two-star competition. It is now a prestigious international competition with showing classes and a country fair.
Assistant director of the horse trials, Hannah Wilkins said, “It is fantastic that Blair is being recognised by the trade in this way.
“We have always been a popular event with competitors and spectators but it is important to remember the standholders, who add so much to visitors’ enjoyment of the event.”
Previous recipients of the prize include Hunter Wellies, Horselix and Eric Gillie Transport.
Blair was nominated for the award by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA).
Claire Williams of BETA said: “The event of the year award acknowledges the event that best works with its exhibitors and takes their needs and requirements fully into consideration, viewing its trade stands as an integral part of its success.
“Blair very much works with the trade, as much as for it. So many of our members felt that there wasn’t a contest!”
This year’s Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair takes place from 26-29 August.
