Showjumpers from up and down the country are on their way to Hartpury, Gloucestershire, for the Blue Chip Championships (14-18 April) and it’s an event not to be missed — for competitors and spectators alike. Over 700 competitors are expected to battle out the daily classes and finals.
One of the show’s highlights is Friday’s gala night (16 April). The evening features two showjumping classes, the Horse Health junior challenge — billed as a “fast speed class with a twist” — and the Blue Chip grand prix.
There is a £1,000 bonus on offer courtesy of Andrews Bowen to any rider who is placed first to third in the Blue Chip A&B challenge trophy and goes on to win the grand prix.
In addition, Geoff Billington will be performing one of his legendary masterclasses at 7.35pm, offering helpful tips and showjumping advice alongside plenty of Billington humour.
Doors open at 6.20pm and tickets (£5 per person) are available at the door.
Stay in touch with all the action throughout the show here on www.horseandhound.co.uk, and don’t miss H&H’s full report, including fantastic photographs and analysis (22 April).
