A lorry driver and two horses have been killed in a collision on the A40 in Gloucestershire.
At 11.20pm on Wednesday (7 April), two horses running loose on the A40 at Shipton collided with a 7.5-tonne lorry.
The 49-year-old male lorry driver from Oxfordshire was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed the horses — which also died at the scene — escaped from a nearby field.
A spokesman from the Gloucestershire police said the owners of the horses had been informed, but added: “We cannot tell how they got out of their field”.
The accident caused carriageway of the A40 at Shipton between Northleach and the A436 to be closed on Wednesday night and Thursday morning for around 15 hours.
