Neptune Collonges out of action with tendon injury

  • Neptune Collonges is set to be out of action for a year after sustaining a leg injury.

The Paul Nicholls-trained racehorse has suffered a tendon injury, which is thought to have occured during last Friday’s Cheltenham Gold Cup. Neptune Collonges finished fourth in the race, ridden by Christian Williams.

Owned by John Hales, the three-time Grade One winner will be assessed by vets but he will be off 12 months — meaning he will miss next year’s Gold Cup.
