Women fined for drunk-riding a horse in Hemel Hempstead


  • A woman who rode drunk through the streets of Hertfordshire has been fined after appeared in court last Friday (20 February).

    Maxine Wiltshire was riding her horse through a busy shopping precinct at 2.45pm on Monday 26 January when she was arrested.

    The unemployed 31-year-old rode through Henry Wells Square in Hemel Hempstead.

    The court heard on Friday how she had already drunk two small bottles of vodka and that she was “clearly intoxicated”.

    She also allegedly told a dog walker “my horse will eat your dog” when he asked her to avoid his pet.

    Hemel Hempstead magistrates court Ms Wiltshire £50 plus £50 costs after she pleaded guilty to being drunk in charge of a horse in a public place.
