Football fan banned after punching a police horse

  • An unruly Stoke City fan has been banned from attending football matches for three years after punching a police horse.

Shaun Allen hit the police horse after the Stoke v Bolton match at the Reebok Stadium in August. He had been asked to move on by a police officer but lashed out at the horse.

He appeared in Bolton Magistrates Court on Friday (7 November) and pleaded guilty to causing harassment, alarm and distress.

As well as the ban Allen was also made to pay a £200 fine with £100 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
