New donkey foal Francesca now receiving visitors

  • The Donkey Sanctuary’s newest arrival is now receiving visitors.

Donkey foal Francesca was born on 2 October and is named after Saint Francis. Her mother Rosie was in foal when she arrived at the sanctuary in April.

Francesca is the 10,000th donkey to be cared for the Sidmouth-based charity since it opened in 1969.

Maxine Carter from the sanctuary said: “It’s wonderful to have a baby in our care. The last foal born at the Sanctuary was Moses in April 2007.

“Francesca is a beautiful, playful young lady and I’m sure the visitors will agree that she is just adorable.”

The Donkey Sanctuary is open all year round.
