Olympic eventing team bronze medalist, William Fox-Pitt is one of the quality international field heading to Scotland for Blair Castle Horse Trials this week (21-14 August).
Just back from recording the second fastest cross-country round at the Olympics, William has 3 horses in the 1-star (Bartley Mill, Carofin Flyer and Bay Tokay) and a single ride in the 2-star, Cool Mountain.
Riders from eight nations, including USA, New Zealand and Australia, will be taking part when the event kicks off tomorrow. These include eventing legend Lucinda Green, who will be contesting the 3-star class with Cry Freedom. The pair finished 9th last year.
Another rider familiar with Blair is Nicola Wilson, who was a team gold medalist and won individual silver in the European Young Rider Eventing Championships at Blair last year. She has horses in all 3 sections. Fellow GB team member Nicola Malcolm from Renfrewshire brings back her grey team horse, McFly, for the 3-star and a youngster for the 1-star.
Other rider sure to catch the eye is Olivia Haddow with her attractive ‘coloured cob’ Patris Filius in the three-star.
