London 2012 Olympic Games hopefuls will travel to Hong Kong

  • Nine British equestrian 2012 Olympic hopefuls are traveling to Hong Kong to experience this year’s Games — to try to give them an edge should they make it to the London Games.

The British Olympic Association has invited three young talents from eventing, show jumping and dressage, to join “Britain’s Olympic Ambition 2012”.

They will see Team GB’s preparation camp, the Olympic village and the athletes’ lodge, watch the equestrian competitions and attend a press conference.

Advanced medium national dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin, 20, is one of the nine heading to Hong Kong.

She told H&H: “It will be such an eye-opener and a great opportunity.”

Team GB chef de mission Simon Clegg said: “Research shows that a high percentage of medallists at any Olympics have attended previous Games.”
