Disabled driver is Inspirational Sports Person of the Year

  • A disabled carriage-driver has been voted Norfolk’s “inspirational sports person of the year” at the county’s inaugural sports awards ceremony last Sunday.

Lindsey Tyas, who suffered a near-fatal car accident at the age of four, was on the silver medal-winning British team at the FEI Para-Equestrian World Carriage Driving Championships 2006.

Former Anglia TV sports presenter Kevin Piper hosted the ceremony, with double Olympic gold medalist Dame Kelly Holmes as special guest.
