Young rider team gold medalist Georgie Spence, 18, enjoyed her first advanced win at the Easco Burnham Market Horse Trials (15-17 September), riding Trenear. Georgie also finished fifth on Song For Gull.
Oliver Townend had lead after dressage on Opposition Alex, but the pair dropped below Georgie and Trenear after a slower cross-country time. Four of Oli’s five rides in the advanced class finished in the top eight.
Piggy French notched up two intermediate wins. She took section K with Royal Crown and then did a one-two in the open intermediate with Cast Away II and Chase The Moon. Henry Dove, 25, was delighted to finish second to Piggy in section K with Claire Cooke’s That’s My Louis.
Jeanette Brakewell claimed the third intermediate section (J) with Hartpury College’s stallion Take It 2 The Limit (pictured above). Local rider Lucy Wagg took second place behind Jeanette on her 15.1hh skewbald mare Wigwam.
