William Funnell (pictured) topped the Renault Jump league table after the final at the Royal Berkshire Show to drive away a new Renault Scenic.
Riding Cortaflex Amber Du Montois, the pair won the class from the final draw to pocket the £2,500 first prize, as well as finishing an impressive 10 points ahead of their rivals to claim the car.
Eight went through to the jump off, including the top three riders in the points table.
Mark Armstrong was the first to post a second clear on Kanelle De La Baie and held off challenges from Ben Maher (Rolette) and Ryan Prater (Otage). He was relegated by newly crowned national ladies’ champion Caroline Webley, who galloped into the lead on Barrister QC.
Helen Tredwell and Opportunity B uncharacteristically lowered the first fence. But William shrugged off the pressure to cross the line with almost 0.5sec to spare.
“Going last was nerve-wracking, but I knew exactly what I had to do,” said William.
