Following their success at the Royal International Horse Show, where they stood intermediate champions, Yasmin Kobbe and Double Dutch III added the Timberwolf supreme championship to their laurels.
Produced by Gill Thompson, the Dutch Gold-sired 12-year old has been lightly shown this season as Yasmin, 22, has been concentrating on a singing career and has just cut her first R&B disc.
Having already taken the overall Premier League title en-route to the Timberwolf supreme on the final evening, Yasmin and Double Dutch III were the choice of Alan Robertson to stand top of the seven strong championship line up.
We were totally unprepared, I hadnt even brought a navy jacket. He can sometimes be unpredictable, but he certainly rose to the occasion tonight, said Yasmin.
Hickstead form certainly held up, as standing reserve was the Royal International supreme ridden pony Tideswell Roger Rabbit, who was again very capably ridden by Charlotte Horne.
Other champions on the final evening included Sarah Lears riding her Irish-bred grey mare Woodfield Cross, who clinched the prestigious Dersert Orchid supreme working hunter title; Charlotte Gill and Charn Kingfisher who stood David Manning overall supreme champion of champions; and the Gill Genders supreme mini working hunter champions Eleanor Hirst and Northlight Solero.
In addition, Jamie Ryder-Phillips earned the Harry Hall rider of the year title with his new partner Ricardo, 13-year old Gill Slight gratefully received a lap-top after heading the E mail points table, and the Scott family celebrated their good fortune when Sophie Scott and Stambrook Pavarotti clinched the Disneyworld Supreme championship, which offers a £1000 holiday to Disneyworld as top prize.
