Funnell and Maher in form at South of England

  • William Funnell lifted the third class in the popular Renault Jump series at this year’s South of England Show with Cortaflex Amber Du Montois. The 17-year-old chestnut mare Amber showed she is as keen as ever breaking the beam ahead to take the £2,500 prize.

Second was Sunkist ridden by Duncan Inglis, ahead of Peter Charles with Pomme D’Ami. Jane Annett finished fourth on Cullawn Diamond, with Geoff Billington and Pedro in fifth place.

The following day Ben Maher was the man of the moment in the Area Trial, with his 2005 Hickstead Derby winner Alfredo. Duncan Inglis and Sunkist had to settle for another second spot, with Robert Bevis collecting a good third place on Wexford.
