Guy Williams continued his run of good form with a win in the £2,000-to-the-winner grand prix at the revamped Aldershot Show on Skip Two Ramiro.
In a 14-strong hotly contested jump-off, Andrew Davies set the standard on Sir Graditz. Robert Smith, on Ronaldo, cut 3sec from the time and looked the winner, before bringing Sharon Baldwins scopey stallion Vangelis S into second place.
Peter Charles then slotted Murkas Rockstar into third place, but two horses later Guy Williams came home with almost 1sec to spare.
Irishman Ryan Crumley won the Area Trial on Baltimore. Georgie Strutton came up trumps in the young riders grand prix on Wonderboy, ahead of Hannah Paul on Saffier Van De Brandkreek.
Vicarage Farm
Geoff Luckett, Billy Twomey and Mennell Watson claimed the seasons first Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) seven-year-old tickets at Vicarage Farm. Geoff claimed victory on Jo Passettis To The Point, ahead of Je TAime Flamenco ridden by Billy Twomey. Mennell Watson collected third on Halida Du Rouet.
Guy Williams took home the top money in the final days 1.40m open on Terri Wilkinss Onyx V. The opening day’s 1.40m class was won by Hannah Paul, 18, after a great round on Lucky.
