Life ban for horse owner

    • A Bournemouth horse owner has been banned from keeping equines for life after being found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a 21-year-old pony in her care.

    Midge Lewis was also given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £250 costs at Bournemouth Magistrates Court on 5 April.

    In March 2006, the International League for the Protection of Horses found Raggy, a New Forest pony, lame with badly overgrown feet. After rehabilitation work and remedial farriery, Raggy is now in a new home as a companion pony.
