New dray horse joins Wadworth Brewery

  • At a time when breweries are scaling down their dray horses, Wiltshire-based Wadworth is bucking the trend.

Prince, a four-year-old Shire, has just joined the Wadworth Shires team of Tom, Royal and Max — the only brewery-owned Shires in the UK still delivering beer each weekday morning.

Prince, pictured with head horseman Barry Petherick, has travelled from Derbyshire to take up his important new role.

The horses are famous for their daily deliveries to pubs within a two-mile radius of the market town of Devizes.

Wadworth sales director Fred West said: “We are extremely proud to be the only brewer in the country delivering by horse and dray on a daily basis.”

The stables are open to the public. For more information, visit: www.wadworth.co.uk
